Bronze 620 is recognized for its impact and wear resistance. Due to these attributes, it has become the alloy of choice in the manufacture of components subjected to extreme conditions, which operate with heavy loads and at low speeds.

Bronze SAE 620 general characteristics

The general characteristics of Bronze SAE 620, in particular its high resistance, result from the components used in its formulation:

  • Cu = 86% – 89%
  • Sn = 7,5% – 9%
  • Zn = 3% – 5%
  • Ni = 1% max
  • Pb = 0,30% max
  • Fe = 0,20% max
  • Sb = 0,20% max
  • P = 0,05% max
  • S = 0,05% max
  • Al = 0,005% max
  • Si = 0,005% max

Also called C90300, bronze 620 belongs to the group of phosphor bronzes, given the presence of phosphorus in its composition. This element increases the rigidity and mechanical strength of materials and parts made from the alloy, reducing wear.

The high concentration of tin contributes to increasing the hardness of bronze 620; zinc produces wear resistance.

Mercobronze Bronze SAE 620

Mercobronze bronze 620 is an input used in the manufacture of many products. Our casting lines operate with high-tech equipment and use four different types of casting, depending on the characteristics, dimensions and quantity of the pieces ordered:

Continuous casting

Performs the casting process in a single operation, by simplifying, standardizing and eliminating steps present in conventional casting. It results in high productivity, low cost, standardization and standard quality in all production lots.

Centrifugal casting

It consists of pouring liquid metal into a cylindrical mold that rotates at high speed. It produces materials and parts with excellent mechanical properties and very low granulation and porosity.

Die casting

This process uses permanent and reusable metal molds. It can use gravity, gas pressure or vacuum to fill the mold with liquid metal.

Sand casting

In this technique, molds made with sand are used, which are disposable at the end of the process. It is indicated for the production of special parts, orders with few units or with non-uniform shape.
