Continuous casting
Mercobronze is one of the few Brazilian industries equipped with Continuous Casting equipment of bronze materials.
The Continuous Casting technology enables the company to cast and shape bronze parts in a single operation, simplifying, standardizing and eliminating necessary steps in the conventional production process.
Benefits generated by Continuous Casting: high productivity, low cost, standardization and constant maintenance of the geometric and physical properties of the materials, in all production lots.

Practical benefits with the Continuous Casting
Continuous casting technology puts Mercobronze on an equality of conditions with the world’s most advanced industries in the production of bronze parts.
The benefits provided by continuous casting aim to meet the main demands of companies that purchase bronze material to use in maintenance services or in the construction of machinery and equipment components: standard, safety and reliability.
In addition to high quality, the high productivity of continuous casting generates additional benefits, such as lower production costs, fast delivery of orders and high commercial competitiveness.

Continuous Casting Process
Continuous casting came to replace the conventional casting in the production of bronze parts in serial production. In the conventional process liquid bronze is conveyed and poured into stationary molds. Afterwards, it is cooled so that the solidified metal is removed. It is a low productivity operation, high operating cost, high risk of losses and lack of standard and quality maintenance.
With technological modernization and the creation of the continuous casting system, this operation was automated and it no longer made sense to produce parts in series using the conventional system. Materials such as bushings, billets and bronze bars, among many others, began to be manufactured on scale, with high productivity and undeniably superior quality.
Mercobronze is one of the few national companies to invest in the acquisition of new technology, which puts it one step ahead in the Brazilian market. All types of bronze material that can be produced in continuous casting are manufactured by the company with uniform properties, without defect and free of slags. Among them: pieces with tubular, square, hexagonal, hollow and solid profiles.
