Bronze hexagonal bar
Mercobronze manufactures bronze hexagonal bar for multiple industrial applications, according to the needs of each customer.
The company is one of the main Brazilian suppliers of hexagonal bronze bars and supplies orders from national and foreign customers, from practically all kinds of industrial activity.

Bronze hexagonal bar in continuous casting
The bronze hexagonal bar originating from the continuous casting method, such as that produced by Mercobronze offers high density due to the compaction structure and proximity of the grains, a condition that gives it exceptional mechanical and machining properties.
The bronze bar casting process is not limited to the fusion of just two metals, in the copper-tin alloy. The word bronze, at Mercobronze, incorporates a range of copper-based alloys, such as the manufacturing of special bars with an aluminum component, whose purpose is to increase the level of resistance and hardness of the final product.
As a technology company that provides solutions for bronze parts, Mercobronze produces bronze hexagonal bars in different types of alloys, adding phosphorus, zinc, manganese and aluminum, among other metals.
Bronze hexagonal bar and its alloys
Bronze hexagonal bar containing lead: this type of alloy has characteristics that facilitate the machining process in relation to bronze alloys without the addition of lead. This bronze bar is perfect, for example, for the production of parts whose clearance tolerance needs to be greater. It is also appropriate for producing shaft support parts, in order to avoid overheating generated by friction.
Bronze bar containing zinc: the addition of zinc gives it hardness and excellent resistance to corrosion and mechanical stress. When lead is added it also facilitates machining.

The first culverines, “ancient cannon from the 17th century”, were manufactured with this bronze known as “gunmetal”, providing long-distance shots with high resistance to projectile launch explosions. Currently, the alloy is used in different applications by the naval industry.
Bronze hexagonal bar containing aluminum: This alloy is often used in the manufacturing of parts and equipment for aviation, in addition to being widely applied in military and naval apparatus.
Hexagonal bar: Mercobronze may contain many other metals in the composition, such as manganese, iron and nickel, in accordance with the standards required by demandants industries, in particular those whose products meet refinement, precision and technological excellence.
At Mercobronze you will find hexagonal bronze bar in all variations of lead bronze, tin bronze, manganese bronze and the innovative FORTBAR – 181 alloy.
